Veneers are very thin pieces of specially shaped porcelain or ceramic that is glued over the front of your teeth.  They are most often used on teeth that are severely discolored, chipped, incorrect size or shape, or to fix a crooked smile.  A veneer fits over the front side of the tooth and changes its appearance.  Usually more than one veneer is necessary to correct the above problems.

How is this procedure done?  The tooth or teeth is shaped to hold the veneer covering.  An impression is taken for the lab to construct the custom veneers.  A temporary acrylic veneer will be placed during the two weeks the laboratory is making your veneer.  At the delivery appointment your veneers will be cemented into place by a special curing light to bond them to the tooth surface.
